Install DENO RTX VFX for ComfyUI without guessing paths

Use this page to install NVIDIA RTX VFX or update an older installation used by the DENO RTX Video Super Resolution node. The screenshots below show exactly where the ZIP goes, where the BAT should run, and when it is safe to type Y.

Current NVIDIA runtime: nvidia-vfx 0.2.0.0 or later (VFX SDK 1.3). The installer downloads this supported version range from NVIDIA. Updating DENO Custom Nodes alone does not update the NVIDIA library; if you use 0.1.x, fully close ComfyUI and rerun the latest ZIP using the same steps below.

Existing workflow connections and settings stay the same. NVIDIA processing results can differ after the library update, so keep your previous environment if you need to reproduce an earlier render exactly. Our Windows comparison found less update-check process accumulation with 0.2.0.0 than 0.1.0.1; results may vary across PCs.

Use Windows 10/11 x64, a supported NVIDIA RTX GPU, and Python 3.10 or later. CUDA 13 or later PyTorch is recommended by the current Comfy Org NVIDIA nodes. NVIDIA's driver minimum is 570.65 (595 for TCC devices). The installer verifies the effect in your ComfyUI environment and does not automatically change PyTorch or your driver. The NVIDIA package includes the VFX runtime; no separate VFX SDK installer or CUDA Toolkit is needed. See NVIDIA package requirements and the Windows SDK requirements.

Download installer ZIP

Close ComfyUI first.

The installer must run while every ComfyUI window and process is closed.

Use only this official ZIP.

Do not run BAT files from mirrors, reuploads, Discord attachments, or random websites.

Confirm the path before Y.

Type Y only when the installer points to the same ComfyUI app you just closed.

Follow this exact order

The important rule is simple: download the ZIP, move it into DENO's tools folder, set the extraction destination to tools itself, then run the BAT directly inside tools.

In ComfyUI, add (Deno) RTX Video Super Resolution. If NVIDIA RTX VFX is missing or you use an older version, click How to install, then fully close ComfyUI before running the installer.

Download install_rtx_vfx_bat.zip from the official Deno2026 GitHub link. It may first appear in your Windows Downloads folder.

Move the ZIP into the DENO tools folder

Move the installer ZIP from Downloads into the DENO tools folder

Open your ComfyUI install, then open custom_nodes\deno-custom-nodes\tools\. Move install_rtx_vfx_bat.zip into that tools folder.

Extract the ZIP inside the tools folder

Right-click the installer ZIP and choose Extract All inside the tools folder

In deno-custom-nodes\tools, right-click install_rtx_vfx_bat.zip and choose Extract All. Set the destination to deno-custom-nodes\tools itself, then press Extract. Remove the automatically added install_rtx_vfx_bat subfolder from the destination path if Windows adds it.

Do thisIf Windows already created an install_rtx_vfx_bat subfolder, move all three files (install_rtx_vfx.bat, verify_rtx_vfx.py, and README_RTX_VFX_EASY_INSTALL.md) from it directly into tools.

Run install_rtx_vfx.bat directly inside tools

Double-click install_rtx_vfx.bat directly inside the DENO tools folder. A black Command Prompt installer window opens.

Do thisCheck that the final BAT path is deno-custom-nodes\tools\install_rtx_vfx.bat.

The installer asks Install RTX VFX here? and shows a Windows path. Type Y only if that path is inside the same ComfyUI app you just closed. If it points somewhere unfamiliar, type N and stop.

Do thisLook for your ComfyUI folder name in the shown path, then type Y only when it matches.

Check thisSeeing python_embeded or python.exe is normal. The important part is that the path belongs to your ComfyUI install.

Wait for INSTALL COMPLETE, then restart ComfyUI

When the installer says INSTALL COMPLETE, close the installer window and start ComfyUI again.

Do thisRestart ComfyUI completely after the installer finishes.

Check thisRun the RTX node again. It should now load NVIDIA RTX VFX.
